Labyrinths are mazes or
winding pathways leading to a sacred center. When you walk a labyrinth you do
so in a quiet, meditative state. This helps open the soul and foster unity and
wholeness. It is a symbol of the spiritual journey into ones soul and back into
the world and dates back thousands of years. Labyrinths were an integral part
of many cultures and religions because they define sacred space.
The
most famous labyrinth is the one depicted on the floor of the Chatres Cathedral
in France. The labyrinth carved into this amulet was found on a coin from the
Island of Crete and dates back 3,500 years. Crete was known as a matriarchal,
peace-loving culture that worshipped nature.

wire and spiral bead. Size is approx. 1" wide x 3" long.
