More About Chakras

Each chakra has associated qualities and a color that cooresponds to the vibration of each center. Starting at the base of the spine and moving upward the associated colors/chakras/qualities are as follows.

1st Chakra: MULADHARA meaning root or support. Located at the base of spine
Color is Red and element is: Earth

2nd Chakra: SVADHISHTHANA is the sexual center. Located between the genitals and naval. Color is Orange and element is Water

3rd Chakra: MANIPURA is the power centre. Located in the solar plexus
Color is Yellow and element is Fire

4th Chakra: ANAHATA is the heart centre
Located at the centre of the chest. Color is Green and element is Air

5th Chakra: VISHUDDHA is the throat centre. Located at the throat. Color is Sky Blue and element is Ether

6th Chakra: AJNA is the third eye
Located on the forehead between the eyebrows. Color is Indigo-Purple and element is Light.

 

 

The seven chakras are wheel-like vortices which, in traditional Indian medicine, exist in specific location in the energetic body of humans. The Chakras are said to be life-force centers or whirls of energy permeating, from specific points on the body. These centers are focal points for the reception and transmission of energies.

A chakra is believed to be a center of activity that receives, assimilates, and expresses life force energy. Seven major chakras or energy centers have been identified and each have their respective energetic and emotional associations. Generalyl these wheels are stacked in a column of energy that spans from the base of the spine to the top of the head. Each has a color and vibration associated with them.

My Chakra Goddess Necklace is a striking tribute to the seven chakras. Each goddess is handmade of natural earth clays, fired to over 2000 degrees then glazed in rainbow colors and fired a second time. Glazed on both front and back. Each piece is hand-wrapped with sterling silver wire with a spiral at the second chakra belly area.

Goddesses are strung on glass beads with sterling silver spacers and large toggle clasp. Goddesses are all 1.5" long.

Length: This three strand piece can be twisted tighter or looser which will change the length 1-2" so it is variable. But generalls should be worn just under the nap of the neck for the goddesses to hang correctly.

This is generally around 16" on a small frame, 18" on a medium frame and 20" on a large frame. Add an inch or two if you want to wear it over a sweater or turtleneck. Measure your neck with a chain that hangs about 1" below the lowest part of your neck.
